"Andrew Wyeth's Cat"
Oil on canvas
Frame 20 x 24 , Image 15.75 x 20.75
The inspiration for this painting came from Andrew Wyeth's "Master Bedroom", where a dog is asleep on the bed. I thought that the room in the original appeared cold and that a cat would be a bit smarter than a dog in getting warm and cozy, so I put the cat under the covers in the area where the warm light from the window comes in on the bedspread and a little hint of how the cat got there on the lower fringed edge. Some people (usually not cat people) can't find the cat in this painting even after I explain it.
